“Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome!”…to 1930’s Berlin, a time of political unrest and economic hardship. However, amidst the chaos and distress, there is one place people can go to forget their problems - the Kit Kat Club.

It is here that we are introduced to an eccentric American cabaret performer, Sally Bowles (Liza Minelli) and a sexually confused English academic named Brian Roberts (Michael York). Mesmerized by one another, Brian and Sally start a relationship that
goes awry, as they end up in a bizarre love triangle with a wealthy baron.

Cabaret was directed by the choreographer and dancer Bob Fosse and is based on his stage production of the same name. The film won 8 of its ten Academy Award Nominations in 1973, including Best Director for Bob Fosse, Best Actress for Liza Minelli and Best Supporting Actor for Joel Grey, who plays the film’s Master of Ceremonies.
