Jerry Lewis, Alex Gerry
In Jerry Lewis' debut as a director, he plays a happy-go-lucky, non-talking bellboy at the posh Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami, Florida. Shooting took place on location and Lewis would film during the day and perform in the nightclub at night. Heavily influenced by the French comic actor/director Jacques Tati’s Mr. Hulot’s Holiday, The Bellboy is without plot and is basically a series of vignettes that has Lewis causing drastic physical changes to all he encounters. - JD
